Draw your decision! #laiskalehtorilearning #betterlearningmoments

I just learned that having a meeting is worth if you can sketch a decision. Not to mention, making the decision.

So, how to keep a 30-minute meeting with a tangible drawn or sketched decision?

First, day before meeting, invite relevant and action oriented persons, maximum four to have a 30-minute meeting tomorrow morning. 2 min.

Second, send them a email explaining a topic and purpose. 5 min.

Third, in previous night before the planned meeting, type elements and your own thoughts about the topic. 5 min.

Fourth, in the morning of the planned meeting, think and choose a method. Collect tools. 3 min.

Fifth, start the 30-minute meeting five minutes earlier, rather than later in a space without chairs. Then stand in front of a wall, a windows or a table with a large paper. Start asking open questions, talk, listen and sketch the discussion at the same time. Prepare the actual joint decision by drawing a decision tree. Then tell a story of the decision, to whom it may concern? What is the decision? What does decision mean to those concerned? And what will happen next? Draw the decision story from a person’s perspective, use stick figures for emotions, block figures for action, blob figures for relation and squares, circles, triangles, likes, blobs and symbols for contexts. Also remember to cut, clue, paint, colour, fold and stick post-it notes in your story telling pictures of the decision. 27 min.

Sixth, agree who is doing what next and each participants post the sketch on social media. 3 min.

Do now a concrete action transforming the decision into practice.
